I'm surprised that HBU is dead last. They've been decent at baseball in recent years. Guess their well went completely dry.
6-11 and 18-35 (10-20) the last two seasons. Around .500 several seasons before those.SFA Jack Fanatic said:

Probably so, didn't realize they had turf as well.

Jacks were up 3-0 a few minutes ago.
Then 2 walks, and 2 wild pitches in an inning was costly before giving up a home run. Already had a fielding error earlier. That's the SFA baseball that I hate.

I hate OU everything to be honest.

ACU beats A&M and SFA beats OU ... nice day for SLC/WAC baseball.
SFA currently leading TCU 1-0 in the 3rd.
Cardenas has his usual "scrappy" group. We are just not deep enough in the pitching department to consistently hang with Big 12 squads. Nice effort.
We put out a very good effort tonight. So far this team looks like the deepest squad Cardenas has put out. I've been one of his biggest critics but Sgambulerri was a good sign, and I wish Emmons would've stayed in the game longer. They're both gonna be solid this year.
Not sure I understand your positives about Sgambulerri. His three innings included 5 walks, 3 WP, and 1 HBP. In 6.2 innings this season, he has an ERA of 6.75. All of that screams that he is a mid week pitcher. At best.SFA_03 said:

Emmons, on the other hand, has a very good 1.80 ERA in 5 innings of work.

The boys have grit. The sample that I have seen indicates a high motor group.

Still a long way to go, but a team BA of .187 won't win many games. ERA through eight is 4.64.
Yeah my excitement for the season has tapered off and this now looks like the same old Lumberjack baseball team we've seen the past 10 years. They get hot from time to time, but don't have the depth to maintain it.
Came up short, losing 8-6 to Nicholls.

Always hopeful. I still believe half of our competitiveness issue is facilities. I'm not saying that if we get brand new on campus wonderland, we instantly start winning championships. But I do think we start getting better recruits and deeper pitching.
You have to think Cardenas's seat is now red hot though. Like I've said before, he's a great guy and probably the most spirited coach on campus, but this has been the story of his entire tenure here.
Our facilities are trash. Recruiting is hard. But at some point something needs to be figured out.

Pitching was good enough to win the last three games. Hitting in all three, and fielding in one, wasn't good enough to win any of them. Lost four games by a combined total of five runs.
