Won the third and fourth sets for the 3-1 win. 8-1 in conference. Freshman Coco Gillette with 20 kills and 11 digs.

Good crowd on the GA side, but the students were very quiet. UCA had ten or so fans that were louder than the few purple haze, and the hundred or so other students. The quietest I have ever seen Shelton. Disappointing.

Yep. 3-1. Two of the sets were 25-23. Coaches made some changes for the UCA match. Most obvious to me was Pagan playing back row only. That put our young hitters up front more. Gillette really responded with 20 kills.

Tied for first place at 8-1 with Sam. SLU is third at 7-2. Matches left are at home Saturday against 0-9 Northwestern State, at Sam, and at home against 6-3 HBU.

For the few that are interested, Coco had a freshman learning match yesterday. Sam did a great job of scheming to take her out of her game. They blocked her early and often. Then, trying to get around or over the blocks, she hit wide and long. She had 8 kills, and 11 errors in 39 swings for a -.077 hitting percentage. Senior, Taya Mitchell stepped up, and was the player of the match with 14 kills, 1 error, and a robust .542 hitting percentage.

We have the best coach. We have the best team that has the occasional WTH set, as they did in the back end of set three today. It's been a months long season. We need the rest that comes with the one seed.

The only senior honored after the match yesterday. She will be very difficult to replace. Taya Mitchell is also a senior. I will try to find out why she wasn't recognized. Fingers crossed it means she's coming back.
