I have been a big proponent of being patient with this team and a believer that we will get it together down the stretch this year. However, I feel it is okay to panic now. We are now in a make or break point of the season. The game against McNeese could demolish the rest of the season or spark a change (whatever that means for this team).

Our offense struggling this badly is just not going to cut it. We can be the best defensive team in the conference, but with this offense we will still lose a lot of games. When Underwood got here and began implementing his motion offense, we looked bad at times but it didn't take long to where you began seeing the easy looks his offense gave us and it ran smoothly at times even when we struggled. I'm not sure if I have really seen Keller's high-low offense run effectively all year (did not watch last night). I knew it would take time to get it implemented smoothly but I have yet to see it really flash or work well in short spurts. I'm not sure if I have seen Holyfield get an easy look in the post all year, and that is one of the big designs of this offense.

I'm not really sure if Keller is a good offensive minded coach. I suspected this when we hired him but kept an open mind knowing that a big change was coming. Now I am even more suspect. We are the bottom of the barrel when it comes to assists per game which is cause for concern. Keller needs to prove that he can teach a sound basic offense. I continue to see our team lost on the offensive end with no idea where they should be and at this point of the season we shouldn't look like that. I know we have barely had our starters for most of the season and I'm not saying we will never be a good team, but we have a right to be concerned now.

Now I admit I did not get to watch last night's game, and I know a few people who went and said our offense did look better so this may just be something taking longer than usual which is what I'm hoping for.

Some of your friends went and said the offense looked better? Are you kidding me? 28% shooting? 19% shooting from beyond the arc? The Jacks missed a couple of dozen shots from less than 10 feet. Terrible shooting! We do not have a pure shooter on this team. The last two games we had taken one step forward. This was two steps back!

That staff has coaches who have worked for Bill Self (Keller), Eddie Sutton (Keller, Wade Mason), Billy Gillispie (Jeremy Cox), and plenty of others. I just can't imagine they don't know what they are doing offensively. I'm still on the "give it time," side of things.

Obviously the shooting wasn't better, but that doesn't mean the offense wasn't running better. Just means they weren't knocking down shots. If we were missing shots within ten feet then that leads me to believe the offense was doing its job of getting us to the rim but the players just didn't make the shots.

100% in agreement. Until halftime at least, it was the best I've seen the offense look from an aesthetic standpoint all season. I know that sounds ridiculous given the result. Absolutely the truth, though.

McNeese is a really bad team. Lost to a D2 or NAIA opponent. This is all sounding like the beginning of a weak period for SFA hoops.

Guys bad shooting happens. It happened with Brad's teams but they found other ways to score. The WVU game was a bad shooting game and we all know how that turned out though. The thing is if we shot poorly, we still had excellent looks. This team though, the offense is its own worst enemy. We flood the lanes with unnecessary drives which aides the opposing team. I don't know what Keller is doing but I know the buck doesn't stop with him. His players are Jucos and freshmen. They look the part.

Kind of makes you think we should have stayed with with Brad's guy Boynton.

We attempted 26 three-pointers against McNeese (only made five) so I'm not sure how you can say we just "flood the lanes." It's fine to be concerned with how things are going right now but I think to suggest hiring Keller was a mistake after two conference games is ludicrous IMHO.

True, s***uy. After reading the comments about Coach K, I went back and checked the stats on this game, thinking maybe I was missing something. It confirmed that Coach Keller took and missed exactly zero shots.

I would expect to see a lot of zone defense from now on no matter who we play.

Wade Mason said after the game on the radio broadcast that if he were playing against SFA he'd play only zone. We definitely suck at beating it right now.

I really miss having someone like Meech or Deshaunt. We don't have anyone that can consistently knock down the 3 ball. When I did my game preview for the Kentucky site, that was one of my season concerns. And it's turning out to be true.

I agree, although Isaiah Traylor was supposed to be that guy. Just hasn't panned out that way so far.

Did you even watch the game? Or did you just look up that stat. Guess you over looked the 18 of 64 FG stat, which really tells you the entire story. Do you want to be 10 conference games in before you realize that the offense gets no easy looks? Becuase we have obviously established the shooting woes.

Yes. I did. We shot poorly. We didn't "flood the lanes."
