Kyle Keller rotation strategy:
Ivan Canete, HOT...take him out, put in Sammie.
TJ Holyfield, foul trouble...put him in, immediately fouls.
Someone gonna have to explain this to me

Nice win over a good UNO team. Very much like A&M-CC has been the past few years. Very physical, pushing the edge of being dirty. They may not have their best game each night, but they are going to make sure you don't play yours either. They adjusted well after we jumped on them early, but we were the better team and held them off.

This was a quality win from the players and staff. Had to make some outside shots and ivan came through. Got to keep improving so we can face them at their house.
That was ugly. Not sure what happened after the initial burst but it's like they forgot what to do.
Also, I'm surprised that Kevon passed on some of those shots. Those were shots he was taking earlier in the season. Reminded me of when players wouldn't take a shot when Kaspar was there for fear he would yank them out.

Mental toughness, but also home court advantage. The crowd came alive in the final four, and that helped. The big change though was bringing Comeaux and Holyfield late to bring back tough defense and offensive juice. Everyone clicked in the end.

Not sure it is as much we forgot as UNO adjusted. We had them on skates in the opening minutes, but once they regained their footing, they were able to dig in and make it a game.
I do think we are much better than the score shows, but I'll give credit to UNO for making that closer than it should have been.

TJ's foul trouble was a huge factor defensively. They could not stop those feeds to Travin. Going to zone during that stretch saved this game.

Man, some of you guys are sure tough to please. Good home win over a very game UNO team. The guys got tough on D late when they needed it .Canete nailing the 3s and then good team D Find a way to win works for me. Always going to be something we have to overcome and the awful SLC officiating as well.

Didn't get to see it. Seems like we don't have the ability to just run someone out of the gym. Brad's teams were just relentless. I mean relentless.

The reason I'm not satisfied with our performance is because I want us to be a sweet 16 team. I know we have that potential. But since the SLU game we've looked like a very below average team.
If we want to avoid a 16 seed in the tournament, we need to play better than we've been playing.

Yessir. Solid double digit win over the reigning, previously undefeated, champs who never once led. Only tie was at 0-0. Game got tight, and we buckled down to win. Conference play is competitive. Every year.Ljacks&Longnecks said:

SLU is a good team. Should we have won? Yes, but they are really good. So is UNO. Don't buy the hype that the SLC is trash. The good teams are good. We're better.

Every game is going to be played different. Some players will get less minutes because they don't match up well, and then you can't account for a player like TJ just committing silly fouls and completely changing your strategy.
We didn't play especially well, but definitely well enough to be a good team who had been playing maybe better than anyone so far. So I'll take it all day.
It's annoying, but it's a common theme every game. The Southland officials are just a joke. That second half took like 3 hours. Not to mention the differences in how they called each half. So frustrating to watch.
