Sorry for the misfire...I'm a newbie! Certainly stoked with the victory tonight!!! I'm not trying to get ahead myself so this is a totally an exploratory question...so don't beat me down on this hypothetical question. Let's suppose the most optimistic scenario happens as we are in a great position at his point to make some real noise here!

If we were to take down the rest of of the non-conference schedule (a big if) and go undefeated in conference play...what is the best seeding we can expect with 1 loss...12? Also, same scenario but we lose the SLC conference final to maybe to Lamar the 2nd seeded team in the conference...do you think an at large-bid is possible with a weak rated conference? Just looking for thoughts?

A 1 loss season gives us obviously higher than a 12 seed I think. I think we lose at a very minimum 1 more. We lose one of our SEC matches.
Maybe lose 1 to UCA, but win everything else.

Hey MileHiJack, thanks for joining our party. Please keep hanging around. As stated before in other threads, a 12 seed is a top level seed for a midmajor. If we could top a SEC team and run the conference, a 12 seed is virtually a lock. 12 seeds are the easiest path to the sweet 16 as in theory they go through a 5 then 4 seed. All other seeds take on a 1-3 at some point.
The only way we could get a higher seed in our conference is if our nonconference schedule was stacked. We just don't play that many top 100 or top 50 teams. You have to be in a top conference to do that, so right now, yes 12 is a ceiling. It's a good spot giving us winnable tournament games.

Harris was the star of the game, but look at Augustin's line. Six assists with only one turnover in 31 minutes. For me, he s the team MVP so far this year. Playing lights out on defense and running the offense. His improvement from last season is dramatic.

Thanks nacluth...glad to be aboard and supporting the Jacks! What about part two of my question...at-large-bid if we falter in a SLC conference champion game?

I see no way to honestly get an at-large bid in the SLC. Not even significantly better mid-major leagues like CUSA have been able to do that lately. We see teams with much better resumes than SFA is capable of with our schedule get snubbed every year (Monmouth last year couple years, etc). The SLC is a one-bid league and I don't think anything could change that.

It's KILLING me that I was not able to watch this...did get to listen to most of the radio broadcast. Two games in a row where I was acting an idiot and scared my kids jumping and hollering after the win...if anyone hears of video surfacing of this, please post here. Would love to watch this.

So why does Keller keep saying we're still way behind? How are we behind compared to other teams this year? What am I missing, is he referring to losing Mack?

I think he means Bain and ty. And probably the "other player" we lost too. Imagine when ty and Bain's are at full strength. Don't forget Bain's was a Rivals 3 Star player who initially committed to Colorado State in the Mountain West. Ty was also a rivals 3 Star

It's a little of both but that particular comment was definitely directed at the Mack deal.
