Watching the feed....Ladyjacks struggled in 1st qtr down 15-13

Reason I post is that I see on the side of the coliseum opposite opponents bench there is a banner or painted on a Purple Haze sign so perhaps they are trying to get something going with PH in that section. Figure Isaac or Purple know more.

Well 27-24 at the half. The girls look pretty sloppy right now - especially offensively. Their defense is getting stronger as the game progresses. Glad it's just Coppin St. for now.

Well still nothing too impressive from the Ladyjacks. Marissa Banfield made her first big play of the home season with a nice drive of the lane. Parker has been a little off tonight. Harris and Hayes look like they are ready to have solid years. Time to shake off the rust for the fourth.

Good friend of mine is one of the refs tonight.

Well your friend is getting plenty of opportunities to get their windpipe clear. Teams are playing rough.

Parker is 5 of 13 from the line.

Ladyjacks have plenty of work to do for sure.

Haven't seen Riley Harvey tonight....is she injured? Expect big things from her this year.

Wondering why Stevie Parker is their technical foul shooter. She's 5 for 13 from the line.

The ESPN3 feed looks really good. New graphics and clean video.

She was playing earlier, but looked a little slow. My guess is the tightness of the game has kept the starting line up out there.

Statistically she's been great in the past, just struggling tonight.

Good home opener win for the Ladyjacks 50th season. The 10-0 run to start the 4th was where the game changed. Girls got Coppin frustrated and we capitalized. Lots of ugly passing and shooting, but man to man defense was generally good. Zone play a little rough.

Freshman Aaliyah Johnson had some nice plays at Center. Not super crisp overall for the offense, but got the job done. Parker was an engine even if her shot was off. She could have put down 30+ if on.

Nice job Jacks.

Coach said after the game that he was just trying to get her going at that point.

A couple notes: Riley Harvey was lost early to a knee injury. Not sure her status going forward just yet but it could be serious. Imani Johnson didn't play per coaches decision (rule violation) but if Harvey misses time they'll need her to play well inside. Little too much to ask of Stevi to carry that whole load on the interior.

Really hope Riley is ok. She has the kind of athleticism you want out of a big body. (Nothing rude implied here). She is strong and can be nimble all the while out sizing most on the court. She looked good her freshman year. I hope this is just a minor setback.
