I'm about where you are. If Thompson could string together consistent shooting performances, I'd have a "buy" on him.

Jenkins and Hayman could be real solid cornerstones. We need at least one solid big man. My dream is a Kensmil type.

Coach B was a point guard, so I suspect we will be better from a turnover standpoint.
Jenkins and Hayman just to help ease the coach into his role. Good to have atleast a couple of familar faces to get the coach comfortable in his new spot. I guess itll depend on what happens with Tech in the end. Would be awesome in we can give convince Chris Johnson to come back with a new coach. Helps a ton in the recruiting stand point.

Just thinking out loud... Does anyone think that our new coach has been contacting potential members of his coaching staff, particularly a recruiting coordinator, to hit the floor running? I assume it's legal, but would it be ethical to do so while still on Tech's staff?

I hope he's working for us already. You would think, being at the tournament has its advantages and disadvantages.

I bet he has done some work as long as it didn't interfere with what TT HC needed to get done.. Coach wants to win a NC at TT he already has his staff lined up and ready to go for Nacogdoches.. I can guarantee that..I have never talked or met with him but I know how the coaching world operates.. I am excited to get him because he can recruit the players we need to win consistently.. he has great respect in the Pro circles like Coach Keller does.. that means a lot to players on the basketball circuit..
kids first day in the portal is tomorrow I believe and I can bet good money we got someone working the portal for us..
I am excited for this..

I'd say it's legal & ethical. Unless he plans to like bring a tech grad assistant. He might not talk to that guy about it until post tourney run.

You often see this on the football level. A Saban underling would get hired before the championship and would start talking to other coaches on his free time.

They're definitely busy with the tourney but it's probably not 24/7. He had time to interview after all.

Looks like Coach Braeuer (seems like too many vowels in one stretch by the way) was at Sam the year we lost to ND so he has seen what basketball can be like in Nac! I'm ready to see that return!

Thats my hope the connections will help. Should be a good role. Just other experience before that didn't move the needle much for me.

I think it's a good hire. He should have a ton of connections. Hopefully he can get a player to come with him.
