The Lumberjacks come into the second part of UT doubleheader week ready to handle the Mavericks of UT-Arlington. While it hasn't seemed like the Jacks have been playing very inspired ball, they are currently riding their longest winning streak of the season. The Saturday matinee promises to be tight.
UTA lost a tight one to Tarleton and won against ACU (sound familiar?) while also losing to top GCU last month. 6' 9" senior forward Shemar Wilson is leading the team in point and rebounds (13/8). They are weak at post defense and take a lot of threes.
The Jacks are winning the games against weak teams that they need to right now. However, no one turns the ball more in all of division 1, and we have committed the second most number of fouls to average almost 20 extra possessions and 20 looks at the free throw line. The Jacks won't beat the Mavs with that stat line.
Offensively we just need some rhythm: inside, outside, anywhere. It's the time of year where we need things to click. Maybe a good home game will get it rolling again.
