SFA (13-7 5-2) vs. UT-RGV (10-10, 1-6)

Well here the Jacks are, with a full lineup and a week off trying to figure out if they have what it takes to be the best team in the WAC. Two games ago, the confidence was pretty high that they were, but two road losses where the Jacks looked like they had the game going their way has been a tough blow.
No way around it, the Jacks loss to Sam Houston would have been a major swing in the seeding standings for WACVegas. The Jacks still have an opportunity to sneak into the top 4 on Saturday if they protect home court this week and GCU and Southern Utah struggle in their tough games. But it won't be easy.
The Vaqueros of UTRGV have not looked particularly impressive on the road this year. Besides a tight game at home against Utah Valley and a dominating win over ACU, there's not much to brag about. But they do have Justin Johnson who may be the most dynamic player on a losing team in the WAC. He's putting in 21.4 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists every game, and would be on the player of the year short list if his team was better.
The Cowboys from the Valley are the best team in the nation at getting to the free throw line and score more than 19 points a game there. This should concern the Jacks whose foul troubles cost the last two games. While UTRGV has not been good on the road, they are ready for their season to start clicking, and the Jacks will have a tough one on their hands.
Right now Tezeno seems to be the motivational heart of this team, but where are the leaders who are going to change the tide when the hard minutes come? We have one of our best shooting squads ever but we're still looking for the guy to put the team on his back. To hold this home stand, we need him.
