Why would u even try to go for two? I continue to not understand why we try to be less successful than what we are given.

UIW has gotten away with many uncalled holding penalties. Yes I know you could call it on about every play but when we can see it easily from the stands....

Ran into #21 Waylands mom at the snack bar. Asked if he wore 21 for Fred Biletnikoff. Don't believe she knows who is was but I told her that he catches the ball like Biletnikoff did.

Man… what a fun half to watch. Our defense looks so good to me. Jaydon Southard with a sweet sack!

Well I agree but it didn't work well. Always things to work on and improve. Late game clock control would be one.

What a game! Me thinks Carthel and the team watched the Shawn Clynch interview with McBroom before the game! Super effort in all 3 phases of the game for a full 60 minutes! I am thinking 9-2, an SLC Championship, and at least the second round of the playoffs after tonight. Lamar will be our only big test!

Watched the end of the second half. Looks like a good one for us! IWU SHOULD NOT BE RANKED!

We were a team that wanted the win tonight! The interview with McBroom, then tonight's game changed my perspective a lot.

Cal Poly is tied with #7 UC Davis in the 4th 20-20

SFA owns the tiebreaker of both teams tie for the SLC championship. The auto bid goes to the team that has the longer playoff drought.

UTRGV is doing a number on HCU.

People will look at the team stats and think that UIW dominated us, when in actuality the exact opposite was true. Lots of yards, time of posession, and first downs at garbage time by UIW in the fourth quarter.

Cal Poly came up short 27-34

Driving home with Buc ees stop. UIW dud have a lot of " Frost Bank" first downs tonight but the defense stopped them or held them to FGs outside of the late TD.

Destiny is now in our control. SFA gets another week to get healthy and then needs to finish the fight!

Unfortunately looks like OL: #55 ERIK GRAY 6-1; 256 (JR.) got hurt, as OL: #57 JARED MANOS 6-1; 274 (SR.) finished the game.

I liked how the Jacks took advantage of their depth on defense and kept rotating players in and out of the game keeping fresh legs going.

Three very good interviews.

Carthel let a little of his true feelings about UIW come out when he mentioned that UIW kept saying "North! North! North! Got to beat the teams in the North to win a national championship" while ignoring the other teams, including SFA in East Texas, in the Southland Conference.

Also, Carthel mentioned that 5 or 6 guys were too hurt to practice this week but played most of the game. Great attitude.

Gray is our starting center, correct? He looked to be hurt pretty bad.

Attendance - 2,098.

Gray was injured and carted off the sidelines. Reappeared later on crutches and I'm guessing an air cast. He was "active" on the sidelines cheering his team on.....but yes I expect he will miss significant time.

The Jacks attitude was great last night. I was off to snack bar at the half and the locker room for visitors is right there under the north stands. Guys were talking and whooping it up going into the halftime break and also when returning for 3rd the spirits were high....heard several talking it up about keeping things going.
Again after game as that was the way for me to exit stadium, the players, parents, fans, coaches all were pumped up and happy faces were all around.

Now a bye week to hopefully rest and repair injured bodies. Then come back out on the 18th with that same great attitude and belief that the conference is ours to win.
