Adding to that: Not having a functional backup.
Rutherford isn't Sam, I get that, but that first half shows that he's not even close to capable.
Maybe it's just some sort of jitters or inexperience…but we ain't coming close to UIW if that's what we got to work with.

We need new leadership that has a true winning pedigree! Not this continual in and out lackadaisical B S we see year after year! Our team has not been consistent for 25+ years with wins or play calling!

The bad play calls have said enough. The fact that Rutherford is still in the game is a cherry on top.

If we kick a fg earlier, we just need an easy fg to win. Or we get a td here, they would need a TD. Take the easy fg in the first half. It's simple coaching.
