QB1 has 4 TD's and 7 INT's this year passing.

Yes, I know he has a running element but those passing numbers are brutal.
Ya that is not good at all.

That's fairly disappointing for a parents day game imo.

Was the student attendance pretty good atleast?

That's fairly disappointing for a parents day game imo.

Was the student attendance pretty good atleast?

Maybe a little disappointed. Overall it seems like the student engagement trend is very positive. Am I missing something.

Purple haze has been the best I've seen since 2018 Attendance at Ladyjack Volleyball has been steady. Probably the best turnout in about 6-7 years (against Sam).

So, I think the outlook for student involvement looks good

I think we need 2-3 consecutive seasons of 7-4/8-3 before we get full buy in. Sad but true. If we look like we can play the part of title contenders, we will get 11,000 - 12,000 for parents weekend

Student attendance is improved for football, in part because of the new policy in place this year shutting down tailgating 30 minutes before kickoff. Last night, our marketing GA went to the students to get them down for the Jacks run. Some started to get up, but we're told by their leaders that they only run the first game of the season. Those that were at the game were great. And, it was really hot until the sun got behind the press box.

Purple Haze did make a good showing at the Sam VB match. They have been well below pre-pandemic other than that, and were non existent for the RGV match yesterday. For the first time in years, yesterday the team did not face the corner where Purple Haze used to be for the school song.

I have yet to see any sign of purple haze at soccer this season. Pre pandemic, there was normally a fully engaged core group.

Our athletic marketing folks have worked very hard to provide incentives for student attendance, and the system to track it. It's a process I suppose.

Ya. When I see a program like volleyball or soccer, not have 20-30 purple haze at every game , I'm sad. That being said, I've noticed a notable improvement over the last 2 seasons. I still think it might take another 2-3 years of increases in the incoming freshman numbers The recent freshmen numbers are encouraging.

IMO I am convinced we won't get to see Weeks play over Maurer. Maurer is the safer play on paper because of the Tennessee offer. And it's a shame really. I feel bad for the other seniors. It is clear as day now that Weeks should be the starter. In fact, I feel like we could have started the season off so much stronger if Weeks was QB1. Maurer could have been QB2 and continued to develop and be ready for his senior year... but now Maurer will have this game haunt him the rest of his career. Ultimately this failure starts at the top..

If the coaching staff chooses to stick with Brian or go to Preston it'll be based on something none of us see or will know. None of us are D1 college coaches coaching for a title, so the best we can do is armchair QB and trust their judgement on what puts us in the best position to win football games.

I for one will continue to trust Carthel and trust the process. He's led our program out of the basement and into a position I think any FCS team we play would feel at least a little worried going against us.

Axe'Em.

I agree with this, but for other reasons. Maurer is obviously a good athlete. I'm sure his ceiling is through the roof. However, Weeks has been at SFA under this staff for a long time now. I'm hoping that the coaches arent playing Maurer solely for his upside and what he could be.

Even the best coaches in the world didn't see any upside in Tom Brady. Not saying Weeks is Brady and not saying we should bench Maurer. Obviously, we don't know what goes on behind the scenes, and for all I know, I could be wrong. Maybe Maurer is the better quarterback by a long shot!

However, Weeks has proven he can get the job done. In his opportunities this year and in his opportunities in the past. If our offense stalls this week, and we don't at least see Weeks given a bigger opportunity, then I think people should start questioning coaching decisions.

I'm not a math major, but I think 9,832 is a little less than 10,000, not 1,000. Does anyone have time to check my computations to see if I made a mistake. I hope not cause that would really be embarrassing if I did make a mistake.
