I didn't see the punch thrown on the ref. But our offensive scheme is so bland. It's killing us. Defensive breakdowns and what seems like bad morale also hurting us.

Ref on the 2nd unsportsmanlike said it was throwing a punch at a ref so that's all we have to go on right now.

Agree on the offense play calling, sounds like the same game plan that we have used for several seasons.
Defense is definitely not up to where we need it to be.

I think a lot of it has to do with the new DC. It's hard to master a scheme that's new. Think about our team as a whole in Carthels first year. But yeah the scheme is so tough. Wide zone after wide zone, followed by a screen.

It seems like our only breakdowns on defense is when we blow coverages or don't fit gaps properly, which to me looks like a lack of understanding the call or scheme. Super frustrating.

Completely agree. Fall camp is the time to get the schemes down. We have this week and next to figure it out, one week later and it's over. I don't want to be "that guy" but I do think all the pieces are here, it just seems like we can't put them together.

Yep, this is hard for me. Usually on this board I find myself barking at the haters and those that only show up when things are down but hard to do when one is not seeing much positive playing teams we should be equal to or better.
Certainly still a chance to come back tonight and/or start playing the kind of football we hoped to see but putting ourselves in a big hole early in the season.

Yeah, it's hard to bounce back from 2 ugly losses. I hope we don't get a second ugly one tonight but doesn't look great.

Take away lack of discipline from bruce harmon and it's potentially 17-10, maybe 17-17 if we execute. There's a chance, but the halftime speech will have to be good.
