Well I'm as pissed off as anyone about today's game. There has been nothing positive about it.
That said, it's a bit early to give up completely on the season.
Promise and potential and talk don't mean much until you turn it into results. Sure didn't happen today. We will see if the coaching staff and players figure things out after this blowout.
I still think SFA will have a winning record by season end if we stay healthy BUT that depends on staff and players buckling down, forget the talk and commit to using this blowout as a wakeup call to reality.

Yes, and the announcers (and Kat1990) will gladly remind us weekly about the 30 point loss and our former ranking!!
So apparently JSU has agreed to call it but SFA hasn’t. Why? I don’t understand. ANYWAYS… I’m headed to the house and if they start playing again I’ll watch it on my phone. Peace out for the time being ✌️

That was ugly but a 1 point loss and a 30 point loss both show up as 0-1 in the win column.
About 6:30, we got the word that Ivey and the J-State AD would make a determination at 7:15. That is almost exactly when the announcement was made that the game was called. It was still lightning at that time.SFASawmillGuy said:So apparently JSU has agreed to call it but SFA hasn’t. Why? I don’t understand. We were at the game. These are very random observations.
We were seriously out coached. Particularly on defense. You don't need to spy to know what offense Rich Rod is going to run. We were constantly out of position. Got almost nothing from our two stud DE's. I focused on BJ for several plays. He was rarely engaged with where the ball was. No need to double team him. Just pushed him wide. We had multiple guys cramp. They had none. Our tackling was mediocre at best. How big a deal is it that we lost most of our defensive staff from last season?
Self was bad. Yes, he was under pressure, but I can't think of one throw he made that I thought was good. Well, other than the walk in TD that Reed dropped. The long one to Gipson was under thrown. Multiple passes where Self and the receiver where not on the same page. Really wanted to see Mauer get some snaps.
J-State is a good team. I think. We were so bad, it's a little hard to tell.
I'm not at all ready to throw in the towel. 85 vs 63 scholarships is real. We need to not beat Alcorn, but to show who we think we are. If we don't …
Bobino had some good plays in the first 20 minutes but not having the 3 you mentioned really showed across the game.SFAXE93 said:
Maybe the losses of DTs Osagiede (Liberty) Fox (TCU) Nichols (NFL) and DT Coach McFarland is showing more than we wanted to think it would.

Aune did drop two and Reed dropped one right before the lightning break that might have been for 6.
That said our problems yesterday went far and beyond 3 dropped passes. We were outmanned, outplayed, and obviously out conditioned. JSU kept firing while our guys were back on their heels and out of breath. Both teams had to play in the same heat/humidity but JSU was better prepared.
No excuses for yesterday...it either showed who we really are or showed we need to forget the hype talk and any so called rankings and focus on results on the field. We will see over the next 2-3 how we respond.
Normally I'm one of the first to defend SFA football on this board but yesterday was just bad. JSU is no P5 team and we should have been very competitive and we were not.
I still believe we have the ability to have a successful season but it has to start next week.
