SFA (0-3) vs. #9 NICHOLLS (1-1)

WHEN: SEPT. 21 (SAT) 6:00 P.M.
WHERE: NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS (HOMER BRYCE STADIUM)
TV: ESPN+

Ready or not it is the beginning of the SLC season for the SFA Lumberjacks and first up we have the conference champion favorite Nichols.

The Colonels are coming off an impressive 42-35 point victory at Prairie View A&M with a very balanced offensive attack of 224 yards threw the air and 241 yards on the ground.

Senior QB Chase Fourcade continues to show why he is one of the best in the SLC going 17-22 passing and accounting for 4 TDS (2 passing and 2 rushing) connecting with his favorite target WR Dai'Jean Dixon 7 times for 126 yards and 2 TDs.

With so many key parts of the SFA defense out with injuries and ineligibility issues, especially up front on the d-line where they have struggled to put pressure on the opposing team's QB, look for the Lumberjack secondary to have their hands full with the Fourcade to Dixon combo.

Reality check.... Nicholls' 42-35 victory over Prairie View was not that impressive. They gave up 463 total yards, including 327 passing, and allowed four sacks. They trailed 21-6 at halftime. PVAM's QB easily outplayed Nicholls' Forcade.

Well unfortunately the reality check is they found a way to win and we haven't. Carthel has to get this team a taste of winning. I'm not expecting it this week, but sooner is better than later.

Yeah and they found a way to win. I think we will get a W but I'll be shocked (pleasantly mind you) if we get it against the swamp people

Just because it's college football and unpredictable, I'll take SFA by 49.

One team is good and one is bad. (At least in recent/current years).

I'd be shocked if Nicholls scored less than 45.

Well we better roll out our 46 point offense then.

To keep with the trend of this year, I predict we lose 5 fraternity members to injury and 3 are declared ineligible during the Jacks Charge.

I liked Carthel's presser today. He's a positive guy but doesn't try and spin the results. I think his frank style will help speed the process of building us back into a powerhouse.

You know the fraternity members won't be in the jacks charge. They'll be too busy at tailgate drinking white claw or whatever the hell it is they drink nowadays.

I'm calling the upset this week.

Why?

Because I can't watch or attend the game.

Weather forecast is decent. Partly cloudy, 86 with a 15% chance of rain.

Subject to change, of course.

Staff
The major key to a SFA victory is their DEFENSE! I have said it and all of ya'll have said it. I think the offense will fair well, the defense just has to keep the big yardage plays all the way down. It's time for Scott Power to live up to the hype.
