Head Coach and SFA Alumni Todd Whitten is coming home and he's bringing a loaded team of seniors, 30 in all.
Last season Tarleton State had an impressive 12-1 record and a run to the NCAA Regional Finals with the #5 offense in the nation along with 24 all-conference players including 6 All-Americans.
The offense is lead by senior QB Ben Holmes 6-0; 200 All Conference (2nd Team) and Team MVP who completed nearly 60% of his passes for 2,659 yards and 28 TDs (3,160 total yards 30 TDs) who will continue to look to his favorite target returning senior Zimari Manning 6-2; 200 REC:44; YDS:947 TD:12
Senior running back Daniel McCants 5-8; 175 will return as the teams leading rusher 1,162 yards 7.3 average and 8 scores.
The defense held opponents to 16 points and 214 yards per game (85 rushing/116 passing)
The much younger Lumberjacks will have their hands full with the Division II powerhouse from the Lone Star Conference, that Head Coach Carthel knows all to well.
