Josh covey could at least give us an actual running threat at QB. Maybe he isn't accurate. Idk.

As much as I've talked about Jake, he commanded that drive. Great series by him after the pick!
Well, our end of half defense is the same.
When we picked up the pace there at the end we looked functional on offense.
Hopefully, we try that a bit more. Our "standard" offense is putrid.

Covey came in with a good reputation. I am wondering what is happening in practice that he is not being given a chance.
Blumrick is doing okay tonight. I agree that Byrd or the OC is handling this right short routes and nothing too fancy.

Well, it hasn't been a bloodbath...yet. Defense is holding great and offense seems to be warming up a bit...nothing fancy but moving the ball at least. Much improvement from previous game, IMO.

Totally agree. The defense is keeping them out of the end zone. Now they have moved the ball ... okay ... enough to get them into FG range three times. But as long as they keep missing them I can't complain.
The thing that worries me is just the inconsistency of the offense. Some series they look great and others well ...
Let's see how the second half goes.

Our defense has played out of their minds today! I think with Foster in it would be a blowout in our favor. Jake has played very well today except for the pick, but he just isn't finishing.
40 yards in 3 penalties. So much for solid defense.

That drive was 8 plays and 89 yards. But over half of it was penalties. SIGH.

Okay so switching QBs mid drive was just odd but if all they were doing is moving to a "wildcat" formation ,,, i guess that makes more sense.

Well it wasn't perfect or always pretty but let's see some credit given on this board to this team for the turnaround from last week. Great to get a win at home and build up confidence in this team. Congrats to Coach Byrd for his first win as a head coach.
