Ladyjacks dominate Huskies in a game of season-highs

It was a night of season-highs for the Ladyjacks as they faced the Houston Baptist Huskies on the road Wednesday. Despite another 40-minute, 20-point outing for HBU's Amanda Johnson, the Huskies' offense couldn’t match the Ladyjacks’ unrelenting defense and impressive shooting. Johnson stood as the only member of the home team with double-digit points at the end of the night, coupled with the team's season-low 1-of-11 from behind the arc and 39.6% shooting from the field. HBU (6-14, 2-8) never held a lead in the game, despite coming within a point of the Ladyjacks twice, beginning with an 8-0 run at the start of the second period. “We had a couple of stretches where we let off the gas and could have extended our lead,” head coach Mark Kellogg said Wednesday, “but overall our effort and execution was good.”
