On difference in preparation for Texas A&M-Corpus Christi...

"I mean, we just wanted to come out as aggressive as possible. Last couple games we were just kind of passive, we weren't playing to our strengths, sticking to our roles, and we weren't really playing with an edge. That was something we really harped on - playing with a different mindset. And that helped us get to where we wanted to get to."

On whether team feels more comfortable against opponents that play man or zone defense...

"At this point we've seen man more than zone but we prepare every day for the next situation. So we can play against zone as well. But our man offense is the best thing we've got."

On given the similar defensive looks between Nicholls and McNeese, how the team has improved since the game in Lake Charles...

"Well, we've learned since the McNeese game. We were very un-aggressive. The ball wasn't falling for us and we just kept settling for three-point shots instead of trying to get to the paint. So, it's like I said earlier about Corpus Christi and playing against the zone, it's a different mindset. Being more aggressive and trying to put some pressure around the rim, that's what we preach every day.

On growth as a point guard...

"I feel like I've grown a lot. I've had help at point guard. Trey [Pinkney] has helped me throughout the season with the transition as I've taken on more of a point guard role. I've got great coaches that have helped me with the transition as well. And my teammates are always giving me confidence. The fact that Ivan [Canete] was able to make six 3s, I know that I have someone I can go to, Isaiah [Traylor], I know he's gonna knock down a shot, Tim [TJ Holyfield], I know if he gets to the paint he's gonna finish, Leon [Gilmore] in transition, I'm looking at him for a dunk, so I have great teammates. They play their roles and they get open, so I'm able to hit them.

On if the team plays better as a unit on their home floor...

"I would say that we do. Just coming in and seeing our fans and the energy, giving us that electric environment, and we know that when we come here this is our house. We have to protect it."

Dribble penetration was amazing against Corpus. I hope we continue to attack. If Dallas/Ty/etc can continuously get to the paint...someone will be open.

Bench scoring is also important. We need Huntley to put in some good minutes when TJ is on the bench.
