Draft Profile for Demmings. I bet it will only get better once he has some stats put in. Currently ranked 19.

Showing he got a tick off that speed now showing 4.41, that is Sauce Gardner speed.

That would be awesome if the Cowboys got him in the 3rd round, which is a big need for them.

3rd round CB prospects

1.
Charles Demmings 6-1; 193 (Late 3rd-4th Round)
(The "High-Ceiling" Small Schooler)
Demmings is the physical standout of this group. While he lacks the Power 4 experience of the others, his 42-inch vertical and 4.41 speed at 6'1" make him a rare athletic find. Scouts view him as a "hidden gem" who can eventually develop into a starting boundary corner because he has the frame to disrupt taller NFL receivers at the catch point.

2.
D'Angelo Ponds 5-9; 173 (Late 2nd-3rd Round)
(The "Money-Maker" Playmaker)
Ponds is arguably the most productive corner in this tier, noted for his elite ball skills and game-changing interceptions against top-tier opponents like Oregon and Washington. While he is undersized at 5'9", he "plays bigger than his size" and is considered an ideal nickel conversion candidate who could sneak into the late 2nd round due to his high football IQ and competitive fire.

3.
Avieon Terrell 5-11; 180 (Late 1st-2nd Round)
(The "Technician")
Is the most "pro-ready" prospect. He is a man-coverage specialist with elite fluidity and hip-flip ability. Though he is slightly undersized for the boundary, many analysts expect him to be the first of these three drafted, potentially even landing in the late 1st round if teams prioritize his Day 1 starting capability over
Demmings' raw size.

If he is drafted in the 3rd round as projected, his initial four-year contract is expected to be worth between $5.5 million and $6 million.

  • Signing Bonus: He would likely receive an upfront bonus of over $1 million.
  • Performance Escalators: If he plays at least 35% of defensive snaps in his first three years, his fourth-year salary could automatically jump to the Restricted Free Agent tender level (currently over $3.4 million).

It is historic.

To put that 9.97 RAS into perspective, he's currently testing in the 99.6th percentile of all cornerbacks to enter the league in the last 40 years.

Historically, only a handful of players at the position have maintained a score that high. For comparison, some of the most famous "perfect" or near-perfect RAS scores at CB include:

  • Patrick Peterson (10.00)
  • Jalen Ramsey (9.97)
  • Marshon Lattimore (9.99)
Because Demmings is coming out of Stephen F. Austin, these numbers are his ticket to a massive "small-school" payday.

NFL scouts will often overlook a lower level of competition if the raw traits are statistically undeniable, and a 42-inch vertical at 6'1" is exactly that.
