This is a serious waste of money. $10K for a locker? Are you kidding me? I hope that not a penny of taxpayer money is spent on this nonsense.
The flat panel TV on top flashing your name and highlights is a bit much.
This sort of thing is what happens when a Power 5 conference school (and one with its own lousy TV network which no one watches) has more money than it knows what to do with.

It's part of the game now. Recruits go where they get shiny toys now. Surprisingly, Texas has fallen way behind when it comes to facilities.
OK so the first post says, "Any chance we get these for our team? Lol"
Directly under that I see a blank box. No text, no graphics, no photo - nothing. And yet people are responding to it. Was the picture removed? Is something wrong with my settings? My computer? My mind? This has been happening to me for about 2-3 weeks now and it's driving me CRAZY.

Yeah I think there's something wrong with your computer or browser. Doesn't seem like anyone else has that issue.

ACU's stadium is coming along nicely. Capacity around 12,000.

If we truly want to 'Dream Big' and walk among the big boys of college athletics, it's about time to begin politicking for a practice facility fee increase again. But maybe this time without a professor-influenced naive student vote! Whoever led the effort last time did a terrible job of selling it to the students and needs to take a Marketing 101 course.

Yes. We definitely need some upgrades. I think it is going to take an initial gift to start that process. Probably 2-3 million. Beyond that I believe a reasonable soccer facility would be a good addition also.

Just to add more salt to our wounds, last year West Texas A&M students voted to increase their student athletic fees to $152/per hour to fund a new stadium (also capacity of 12,000). Wish we had a student body like that.

In this day and age, it is tough to get the money from the students. Most big-money upgrades have to be funded by capital campaigns that rely on private money.BigJack85 said:

Southeastern Louisiana got new turf.
The entire conference should be all new turf pretty soon.
Everybody has updated turf now I believe in the SLC.

if the longhorns cant get recruits based on their play on field, they will with these locker rooms. millions of dollars and not a penny to the athletes. (and don't give me that free education argument. They barley have time to study between all the games and practices)
