If the Rice Owls happen to again be on SFA's schedule next Fall they will have a totally different look from the team that nipped the Jacks this year. Four of Rice's five starters have decided to transfer as a result of the loss of their coach Mike Rhoades to VCU -- Marcus Evans, Egor Koulechov, Marcus Jackson, and Marquez Letcher-Ellis. Evans and Koulechov both made the C-USA All-Conference First Team.

There was video on the web that showed the rice locker room celebrating when they announced that the Rhode's assistant would be getting the HC job. They all hugged him. That didn't last long.
FWIW: During his time at Arizona St., Scott Pera wound up recruiting James Harden (whom he also coached in high school). Harden thinks the world of him.
My understanding is that ASU hired Pera so Harden would attend ASU; it was a package deal. Although I think it is unseemly, it's the world we live in these days.Txjack said:
