All these new locker rooms/renders of new ones. Makes me want SFA to jump on the gun and start hyping up the new stadium/locker rooms.

Maybe I should put pressure on them on twitter like I did with the recruiting class reveal.

Yep you are hearing this any many veteran coaches, tired of dealing with the agents and just not having fun anymore in the process.

Some in the media down Beaumont way are claiming that Lamar has the #4 FCS recruiting class in the country. I almost spit my coffee when I read that. Whichever recruiting agency that they got that number from had a Top 10 FCS schools recruiting list, and only Tarleton appeared in that top 10. No SFA, Montana State, NDSU, Montana, Villanova, UC Davis, etc. What a joke.

Not the most credible list. Although Lamar supposedly snagged a couple of winners.

Most of these lists are going to base the class strength off of FBS transfers as well. They basically completely discount sub D1 transfers even though many of those players could legitimately start on P4 programs, and for whatever reason fell to the D2 level. Idk if we snagged any of those guys, but I do know we got some sub D1 guys who will turn out to be some of the best in the FCS in 2026.

From now(actually a few week ago) until week zero, there's gonna be a ton of speculation from "experts" based on no research into these guys.

That's why you should only trust the experts here at the SFA Sawmill!

They got RB Parker Jenkins 5-11; 210 from East Carolina **** #25 RB (Class of 2023) who was also at Houston, a local Klein Forest High player. Had about 40 offers coming out of high school.

  • Big 12 Conference Honorable Mention Offensive Newcomer of the Year (as a true freshman)
  • Appeared in all 12 games (369 snaps)
  • Made eight starts at running back
  • Team leader in rushing yards (464) and yards per game (38.7)
Didn't do much his sophomore year playing in 6-games with one start, only 34 rushing yards, 3 catches 17 yards.

Transferred to ECU for 2025 where he was named 4th team Pre-season All-AAC by Athlon Sports and named to the Doak Walker Award List.

Played in all 11 games for ECU but didn't set the world on fire, ATT:75;AVG:3.4;YDS:256;TD:2/REC:9;YDS:69

Also QB Evan Bullock 6-5; 220 out of Anna, Texas who was at Louisiana Tech *** #96 QB (Class of 2023)

  • All-CUSA Freshman Team (2024)
  • CUSA Offensive Player of the Week (10/14/24)
  • CUSA Commissioner's Honor Roll (2023, 2025)
His redshirt freshman year he played in all 12 games making 10 starts completing just under 200 passes for 2,101 yards and 14 TD's with only 3 INTs on a 66% passing percentage (2nd in CUSA) and fewest INTS in the conference.

In 2025 he was 2nd string playing in 5 games completing 26 passes for 243 yards no TD's and 2 INTs.
