SFA and CBU now in 3rd at 9-5

Right now, SFA is the hottest team in the WAC.

Stephen F. Austin 10-5; 15-14 (9-1 in the last 10)
California Baptist 9-5; 16-15 <SFA 2-1 series win>
Grand Canyon 9-6; 18-12
UTA 6-5; 16-16
UTRGV 6-6; 16-12
Seattle 7-8; 9-19
Sacramento State 5-7; 16-15 <SFA 2-1 series win>
Utah Valley 4-6; 16-14
Utah Tech 3-8; 8-22 <SFA 3-0 series sweep>
New Mexico State 3-11; 5-21

We are about halfway through the season and there are still a lot of games left, but the Jacks are playing with great confidence and making some noise.

It doesn't get any easier for GCU as their next 6 games are Arizona State, 3-game series in Abilene, and a double hitter with #24 Texas Tech in Lubbock.

ACU lost again to Sam last night, so now SFA is all alone at 2nd place in the WAC, 2.5 games behind SHSU.

The Jacks get a non-conference game back home with Northwestern State, before they had out on the road in conference action with a struggling New Mexico State in Las Cruses.

After that then we get a very good UTA team and first place SHSU.

Stupendous start Cardenas deserves a ton of credit. With almost zero pitching, somehow we've worked into contention.

GCU is not nearly as good as I thought they would be. They started great and they have 2 or 3 guys that will be drafted but they can't win WAC games. They might be missing Stank. He is doing a great job at USC.

Meanwhile, the Jack's pitching is suspect but their hitters can hit anybody in the conference.

I saw this on Twitter today and wonder what people think about it? In the park HR or ground rule double? The LF should have grabbed it and tossed it in instead of standing around but what do you think of the call?

Doesn't helped that he went over and was able to grab it. Kind of like losing the ball in the ivy, but in a perfect world it would be a ground rule double.

Good run by UTA, but Utah Valley is playing some good baseball, still undefeated and one win away from winning the WAC and going to a NCAA Regional.
