Litrell found quick success at UNT winning the west in just his second season in 2017, but he was 0-5 in bowl games.

Even though the Mean Green did rebound from a 4-8 season in 2021, the wheels just kind of came off at the end of this season.

UIW has made outstanding strides for a school that has a football team younger than my niece with facilities worse than my high school. Can't believe they're 4 quarters away from a national championship.

What UIW has done has been impressive. I've been shocked they built up after Eric Morris left, especially given their facilities and lack of support in every other area.

I think we can get there. I still have no freaking idea how UIW did.

They just went all in on football. They haven't been great at anything else, but San Antonio is a very rich recruiting area even with UTSA and UT to compete with. They can probably just scoop up the players not quite good enough to play there but good enough to tear it up at the FCS level.

I'm sure they'll have a bunch of players transfer out but they can market themselves kind of like Blinn does. A stepping stone to the FBS.

But while that gives you more runway, the rest of the team has to be pretty decent too.

A great player can make everyone else on the team motivated to be great as well.
