We're gonna need a speedy wr replacement for Gipson, but I sure wouldn't mind having a giant WR to compliment that replacement.

Sam's DB Taylen Blaylock is in the portal. Dad played at SFA, would be great to see him atleast get a look.

He has already picked up offers from Utah, Missouri, Louisville and North Carolina State since entering the portal.

Chatted with David Bailiff this afternoon. He and Texas A&M-Commerce are parting ways as his contract expires. He turned down an extension a few weeks ago, sides couldn’t agree on a deal.

Bailiff wants to keep coaching. Went 23-13 at Commerce, which moved up to FCS this year.

How in the world did Simon Fraser U get into the LSC? From British Columbia?? Do they use Canadian rules when at home?

It appears KC Keeler is the front runner to get the next chance. Some Sam Houston fan posted on Twitter earlier about a private flight from Huntsville to San Marcos and back. The owner of the flight was a TXST donor.

That would be interesting.

That would also leave SHSU in a pickle going forward into the FBS with a new coach and having to reestablish a recruiting class and not to mention all the current players that often leave during a coaching change.

Texas Permian Basin (D-II): UTPB is making a head coaching change sources tell FootballScoop.

It appears to be just our luck that when the best decade of Bearkat football finally ended and they appear to be on a downward slope, we no longer play them anymore.

Kind of ironic with all the comparisons with SHSU being the next Texas State in the FBS and here he is possibly looking at actually going to Texas State.

I guess either way he goes he has an up hill battle to win on the next level.

It will surely prove how great of a coach he is if he can turn TXST into a consistent bowl team. When he took over at Sam, they were already great. Delaware also has a great FCS history. TXST will be his first huge test.

Carthel has turned two losing programs into consistent winners, which makes me worried when we get back to the playoffs how many offers are likely to go his way.

With the UT deal, maybe we will have the money now to keep coaches.

It's being reported that Eric Morris, GJ Kinne, and KC Keeler among possible Texas State head coach candidates.

I'm even hearing Tom Heman's name in the mix, but money might be an issue to get him. Herman was the OC at Texas State in 2005 and 2006.

Joe Gillespie DC at TCU also a possibility.

I wonder why they let that contract expire. That's doesn't usually happen if you want to keep a coach. Either they aren't sure about him or he wants more money than they can pay. Sounds like he is gone.
