Wow. Wonder how that will impact recruiting? My guess is that the SLC already has a protocol in place for this.

McNeese is not having a good year so far.

Maybe. But all the HC Harper rumors are hilarious. Part of his departure was his performance but it was also his commitment. He was done with coaching when he hung it up. It was apparent during his final season he was not feeling it anymore.
On top of that, he was a defensive coach. "His" offenses may have been prolific but SFA didn't move to that offense until a couple of seasons into his tenure, and that was because of an OC hire and how well it fit Jeremy Moses.
His defenses were awful at SFA.
So any talk that McNeese would want to bring him in are funny to me. I thought he was never a great head coach and was just very fortunate for 2 seasons to have a couple of outstanding recruiting classes.

We really do have a good opportunity. McNeese & Sam not playing at world beating levels would give us a huge advantage in trying to rebuild.
And tbh, if Carthel can't turn this program into a winner, we need to officially become a basketball school.

Attendance is down pretty much in all sports.
Tech for sure IMO is a cause, we saw this coming miles away.
Who wouldn't pick the comfort of their own home with your AC, big screen 4K high def TV, surround sound, refrigerator, and private bathroom. (OK, I personally don't have a big screen TV, surround sound, but some people have nice set ups or man caves)
Maybe attention spans have decreased as well?
When the camera pans the crowd everybody is on their cell phones. Personally I feel tech has killed my attention span. (I have to walk now while reading a book to stay focused, because my mind wonders in all directions.)
In pro sports IMO it's increasing ticket prices, concessions, parking, and even politics. When I think of the cost to go to a game with my family of four I just quickly talk myself out of it.

But what I dislike about that article is that they're acting like unique headwinds are facing the SLC, when the main headwind is the Southland itself.
They added two atrocious football schools. They do dumb things like schedule Thursday night games & not even for TV slots.
Not to mention the powerhouse school couldn't pay fans to come.
