I don't think they (Tarleton) realize the kind of travel budget they are walking into. You're talking about FLYING to virtually EVERY competition. All the way down the women's tennis team. I will be shocked if they are competitive in any broad sense. Shocking.

Well Tarleton & RGV have access to that sweet, grade A, PUF money.

One of the schools is in Chicago. That would be "Chicago State". CSU is going through a significant budget crisis and part of the analysis of the budget gap included a $2,700,000 travel bill If I remember correctly it (travel) was consuming 25% if the athletic budget The Southland has plenty of flaws. Geography is not one of them.

This breaks my heart (sarcasm). Previously undefeated and #3 ranked Tarleton lost to Carthel's old team, A&M Commerce, 23-16 in the first round of the D-II playoffs.

10 scorers again, and did I read that Kalcheries dunked the last points? Only John didn't score, but fouled out in 13 minutes of play. Solid double double for Kensmil. Good assists and good steals. Love it when a plan comes together.

Absolutely. San Antonio produces some really good recruits and money. There's a ton of potential for UTSA to be a very solid program. They just need the right leadership.

Haven't seen the latest breakdowns, but their athletic budget was $18 million compared to just $12 million for us as of two years ago.
Get that athletic fee passed and we have the biggest budget in the SLC...

I kind of doubt it. Conque was making 200k in base in 2016. KC Keeler was making 250k base two years ago.

Carthel is probably doing well, but I don't think he makes it above 300k in total comp.

Once we start winning? I bet we'll give him an extension & something like Keller's 25k per season raise.

We'll need to pay him if we want to keep him, especially when we start winning. I honestly think it was KC Keebler's biggest mistake not taking the UTEP job when it opened. Now he's fizzling out in Huntsville and Sam has been getting worse by the year.
