Just a heads up... the signing day event at 2:00 p.m. is open to the public. Info here:

NACOGDOCHES, Texas National Signing Day 2018 will culminate weeks of tireless recruiting for the Stephen F. Austin football coaching staff Wednesday, Feb. 7. Head coach Clint Conque is set to introduce the newest members of the Lumberjack football family at his annual signing day press conference at 2 p.m. CST.

SFA Athletics will have full coverage of National Signing Day 2018, beginning early Wednesday morning when commits are able to sign and return National Letters of Intent (NLIs). Once received and verified by the SFA compliance office, we will introduce you to the newest 'Jacks who have made the choice to bring their talents to Nacogdoches through SFA football's official Twitter account (@SFA_Football), Facebook page (SFAFootball) and Instagram (@sfa_football). Full bios of each new addition will be available and updated throughout the day at our 2018 Signing Day Central page on SFAJacks.com.

Coach Conque will then make the formal introductions of the entire 2018 signing class at 2 p.m. CST Wednesday afternoon in the Lawton Room of the SFA Fieldhouse. The press conference will be streamed live on ESPN3, available online here. Additionally, SFA's mid-year enrollees will be in attendance and available to speak with the media. Rising senior quarterback Foster Sawyer (Fort Worth, Texas) will also be on hand and available to the media.

National Signing Day marks the official end of the 2017-18 season as the program's focus will shift fully to the development of this year's team. The 'Jacks will continue their offseason strength and conditioning in preparation for 2018 spring workouts, which will get underway March 22.

SFA went 4-7 overall and 4-5 in Southland Conference play in 2017 but posted a 4-1 record against in-state FCS opponents, marking the first time since 1995 SFA claimed four victories over Texas schools in a single season. The 'Jacks envision new heights this fall as they return a total of 23 starters from last season, including 11 with starting experience on the offensive side of the ball, nine on defense and three specialists. A total of 45 letter winners from 2017 return in 2018, four of which were named All-Southland Conference this past fall.

Stay tuned to SFAJacks.com, as well as SFA's social media platforms, for complete coverage of Lumberjack football.

Like draft day for the Cowboys, most optimistic day of the year until the season starts! Hopefully this year that optimism isn't unfounded.

They rated SFA right there with Sam .... and Houston Baptist. Well, it is subjective.

What is UCA doing different than us? I probably should stop here.

Remember that rating was based off of just the high school recruits and not taking into account the JUCO and FBS transfers.

SFA went JUCO heavy in their signing class.

I like our class. HBU has a still relatively new, but so far poor program. It appears they have signed a class that reasonably compares to ours. Six of their class of 24 are Juco transfers, so 25%.

Ultimately, it is what happens in the fall. Who gets coached up and who executes. Just win.
