Little Elm (3rd ranked 6-A team in Texas) defeated Dallas Jesuit 66-42 in the Class 6-A Division 2 Region 1 Area Round this weekend. Future SFA Lumberjack Kensington Candler led the way with a game-high 23 points.

For about 20 years my sons and I attended every boys state tournament when it was in Austin, and a couple after it moved to San Antonio. When my sons grew up and moved away I stopped going. I miss those days.
BTW, there was an article in the Dallas Morning News yesterday about attendance at the boys state tournament. It's way less in SA than it was in Austin. The Alamodome is just too big for basketball. The UIL is considering moving it to the DFW area or rotating it at sites around the state.
Little Elm ran away from Grand Prairie 82-57 last night despite a height advantage by GP. Little Elm's fast-breaking guards' speed (including KC) was the difference. KC was not the leading scorer in this one. It was fellow guard Josh Weems with 31. Little Elm will face Cypress Springs on Tuesday in the state semifinals.

Little Elm won the 6-A Division 2 state title tonight, handily beating Austin Westlake 57-35, but future Lumberjack Kensington Candler apparently didn't have a good shooting night. He scored 9 points on 4-14 shooting and 1-7 from three. He did have 5 assists and 5 steals.
