Based on what I've read so far, it appears that Tarleton has out-recruited us during this portal window.

They have but it's all because of facilities.. our coaches are at a disadvantage to start with.. DO something Mr AD rally some big alum to build something or atleast start the building process.. I hate getting our ass handed to us in recruiting because our locker room is 35 yrs old.. it's embarrassing

A Tarleton fan was using it to mock us on twitter but it's true, losing Coach Ross hurt. A lot of Tarleton's commits here were SFA commits who flipped their commitments.

I friggin hate Tarleton that town sucks..

Funny enough in the grand scheme of the FCS, we actually recruit incredibly well under Carthel in spite of our facilities. Carthel is just an incredible recruiter who's been able to bring in players SFA could've never dreamed of before.

When we finally get a modern stadium and state of the art locker room, imagine the recruiting classes Carthel will be able to pull then.

I think we've done a good job filling the glaring holes we were going to have. We didn't shake the world with our portal class so far but didn't do poorly either. I think we're going to be in a good spot moving forward, but definitely gonna need some of the younger guys who got experience due to injury last season to step it up this spring if we're gonna run it back.
SFAXE93

SFA going to do it with under the radar, Div. II, and JUCO players.

Never said Colby was a bad recruiter.. I said he is at a disadvantage starting off.. I am actually surprised he is still in Nac.. People should see he is committed to the University and community(HTea0) his wife owns.. it makes me sad we have horrible facilities compared to others.. Atleast start on an indoor practice facility for all sports where the practice field are now.. Do something..

6-4, gonna be a solid red zone/jump ball threat.

Actually from his twitter post I'm guessing he's gonna be a tight end for us. He tagged the TE coach.

I'd hope he will be used at WR, as SFA rarely uses the TE position and Edimo has that position tied up when they do.

First of all when did this man become 6'7, because I swear he wasn't that tall at Texas St.

Second, this could make UIW scary offensively. He's shown flashes of greatness in his long, long, college career. And he's practically a WW2 veteran at this point, so he's seen things.

Redshirted his freshman year at Baylor while rehabbing an injury suffered his senior year of high school.

Recruited out of high school, was rated a 4-star RB by On3, and a 3-star by ESPN, Dave Campbell's Texas Football, and 24/7 Sports. Got caught in a RB numbers game at Baylor and was the odd man out.

If he is fully recovered from his injury this could be a great addition to our already deep RB room. Looks like we will definitely be leaning more on the running game next Fall.

RB: Joseph Dodds (2026)

From Heartland College Sports, about Dodds...

Baylor's backfield just took a hit with Joseph Dodds officially entering the transfer portal. The freshman running back didn't light up the stat sheet this fall, but he was one of the more promising young guys on the roster, and now he's on his way out.

Dodds was a four-star recruit in the 2024 class and had the kind of pedigree that made you think he'd be a factor in the near future. He finished his freshman season with 26 carries for 104 yards and a touchdown, which isn't a ton, but it was enough to show he could handle real snaps.

Baylor's offense is losing a piece, and while Dodds wasn't RB1, his exit cuts into the future depth. Everyone gets banged up, everyone needs rotation guys, and Dodds looked like the kind of player who could carve out a significant role next year. Instead, he's going to test the market.

This isn't some massive meltdown moment, but it is another reminder of how fast things move now. A year ago, Dodds was a big-time recruit walking into a Big 12 program. Now he's moving on after one season. That's just the reality of college football now, guys want touches, and if they're not getting them, they're gone.

Baylor will be fine long-term, but these little losses add up. Dodds might've been a rotational guy this year, but next season, he could've been more. Now we'll find out what that looks like in a different jersey.

All of the signees have the same graphic and it is posted by the official SFA football account, so they are in. They never post recruits on the official twitter, only signees. If you see that graphic on SFA football twitter they signed.

Even Sports Illustrated announced it.

I have to say, seeing all of these very good RB's and what they bring to the table makes me a lot less concerned about our QB situation. If 2 or 3 of them really shine this Fall and if our defense gells we could definitely win conference again and make a run in the FCS playoffs.

Maybe Tarleton hasn't out-recruited us after all.
