Did she ever suit up for the Huskies? I looked through several box scores of their games and never saw her name. Will she have four years of eligibility?

From several sources about Avery Van Sickle...

Had knee surgery in high school to remove a bone spur and a partially torn knee ligament. Also had various illnesses in high school, including mono, kidney stones, and lingering back pain, as well as supporting her father in his battle with cancer, but she persevered through it all.

Turned down offers from Duke, Michigan, Minnesota, Colorado, and Texas to go to UW.

Nominated for 2021 McDonald's All-American Team.

A combo guard who's deadly from outside the arc. Gets her shots off super fast. An experienced transfer from Rice was ahead of her at the guard position at UW, which kept her on the bench. Never saw a minute on the court in her first few games at UW.

Good stuff. To add to it a bit. The HC at UW was not the HC when Van Sickle signed. She was the HC at Rice. Two of her girls at Rice followed her to UW. The last of the six games that Van Sickle was on the team was a comfortable win at Seattle. Four of the staters played over 30 minutes, and 13 saw the floor. Not one minute for Van Sickle. She clearly isn't a quitter, but it was not what she signed up for. For the season, UW is 6-14, 1-11.

Sounds like a resilient person/player...my favorite kind to rally behind!
