Define 'Preferred Walk On'. Does that mean non-scholarship with a chance to earn one? What's the difference between a PWO and a WO?
FCS gets 63 scholarships but it is not a headcount sport, so those 63 can be divided up among many more players. Probably several preferred walk ons, and several partial scholarships.cboothe09 said:
We only have so many scholarships available. Either it is a complete house cleaning or there are going to be some tough cut decisions to make.

A college coach or recruiter may designate an athlete as a "preferred walk-on" during the scouting process. In this situation, the athlete is assured a spot on the team, but the coach is unable or unwilling to offer a scholarship.
A "walk-on" was not invited or recruited put tried out for the team later in the process.
This is a big one indeed!SFAXE93 said:
Got a big one here.
LB: Gerard McKnight 6-3; 210 Cypress, Texas (Cy Ranch) *** #142 OLB
Offers from SFA, UTSA, Texas State, New Mexico, Houston Baptist, Prairie View A&M, Texas Southern, Texas A&M Commerce
Curious how many three stars were on the 2018 roster? Confident it was less than ten.SFAXE93 said:
That makes ten 3 star rated recruits and six 2 star rated recruits. This class is better than some lower tier FBS programs.
I'm almost tired of saying 'Outstanding" about recruits in this recruiting class.SFAXE93 said:

They have 46 commits. Apparently the military academies all do that. I do like that we are getting guys that had the military academy option. Speaks highly of them.SFAXE93 said:
Sorry Air Force.
9 SFA commits have offers from the Air Force.

PWO is when a Team already has their chart full for your position and can't offer you a scholarship or they are on the fence with you as a player. The difference between a PWO and WO is that as a PWO you are guaranteed to be on the team and the roster and get to pratice and work out with the Team before the season starts. You also have a higher chance of moving up the ranks as a PWO. When you are a walk on you don't report till school starts and still have to try out for the Team and as a PWO you don't have to try out for the team.SFA Jack Fanatic said:
