Wild situation. Perhaps McBroom isn't the answer. I know this is happening everywhere, but this really could have been handled much more smoothly.

Definitely a misstep. No way around it.

Overall the athletic department has performed well. But these title IX lawsuits are not good.

Consider. April 28, was after the season was over. Every HC has a one on one with every player after their season is over. Virtually every sport has players that get "cut" for various reasons nearly every year. The cuts are taken very seriously for many reasons including the potential negative impact on that sport's, and the Athletics Department's, Academic Performance Progress (APR).

Right now, we have one side of the story. Perhaps, wait for the process to play out before assuming guilt.

Just a thought.

As I mentioned, this is a very recent action as reported and SFA has not yet issued a response.

The initial action of the cuts was an unforced error that did not save the budget and opened SFA to appropriate legal action which will be ongoing for quite some time.

SFA will respond and then all will play out. Certainly a case that requires evidence and truth.
All due to a very poorly planned attack of 4 sports, 3 of which are women's sports and there are guidelines to ratios of athletes' male/female and number of sports offered to each gender.
