Man, living on campus in Nac was some of the best times of my life, it's hard to imagine so many people foregoing that.
I completely agree. It seems like a waste, to not experience the "college experience" but plenty of kids these days could give a $__t. Sadly.
I think each student's life experiences are different. I was a commuter because at the age of 20, I decided to raise my 5 yr old niece as my own, so I really couldn't have that " normal college experience." But I still enjoyed my college & Grad years. V had a more "traditional" college exp, but still came home every weekend. And, of course, we both are huge SFA sports fans so our different college experiences didn't impact our support as alumni.
The fact is, education as a whole, is changing. COVID just spurred it on more quickly than people wanted it to change. SFA has NOT taken advantage of online learning up to this point...compare is with Lamar, who embraced online programs, at least for graduate studies. This is definitely an area to increase as it will help us grow overall. If we don't offer it, someone else will (and already do).
