I got to go out with my father-in-law and my oldest last night stargazing. Through my binoculars I was able to make out the smudge that is the Neowise comet. However, my father-in-law has a nice camera that can layer frames to make an ersatz time exposure shot. At a completely black sky with no comet visible to the naked eye, he captured this shot:
