The Texas UIL has taken action to crack down on an alarming number of brawls in high school sports. Beginning this Fall, any player ejected following involvement in a brawl during a UIL sports event will have to miss the next game (first half of the next game in football). The UIL has said if this doesn't work then the penalties will be stiffer in 2019-2020 and involve the coaches.
