Concluded a very successful spring schedule last night, with the last three games being under the leadership of the new head coach. We were able to see two of the games. They looked very much like a continuation of the outstanding fall results.

The roster is updated also. Four girls followed Ben to UH. Two, Ella and Ava, are meaningful losses. The other two didn't play last season, and I don't expect for one of them to play this season.

Very impressive showing by the Ladyjacks, A&M is undefeated and they beat a very good Rice team (that was receiving votes) 4-0 to start the season.

The 4-0-1 Cougars with Coach Ben Willams, Coach Peter Mulamba, Coach Izzie Vaccari, GK Logan Pilgreen, MF Ava Shannon, MF Morgan Donohue and D Ella Morgan return to the Chopping Block.

Houston has allowed only 1 goal in their 5 games this season, which was in a 5-1 win over (RV) Texas.

(22-1 on goals) 125 shots (66 on goal) versus 25 shots (12 on goal) allowed, that's 25 shots per game for the Cougars.

They are coming off an 8-0 win over McNeese.

We know Coach Williams' aggressive game.

What a job Coach Williams has done so quickly to a program that was 4-12-1 last season.

Having coach Williams as a former head coach, and some of the Houston players as former teammates, gave the Ladyjacks the ultimate scouting report.

McCluer is outstanding in goal. Although the PK was slightly wide left, I'm not certain that she wouldn't have stopped it if it had been on frame. Their biggest miss when there was a scrum to one side of the goal, and a UH girl airmailed a shot way over a wide open net. Center back, Sydney Williams, was the player of the game. She was a rock on defense, playing all 90 minutes.

We got to visit with Ben for a few minutes after the match. He's a good one. Hope they win out.

Next up is La Tech in Ruston on Thursday. A few familiar names in the athletic department there.
