Roster posted with only two returners from last season. One graduated, and four went into the portal. Ana had let coach know early on that Nacogdoches was not where she wanted to be for college. She was looking for a bigger city. After the season, the other three came to her office thirty minutes apart to let her know they were leaving. This was the first time in her career as a head coach that Erin had a player transfer. She was stunned and a little hurt.

Five freshmen, one junior and one senior. One more expected to come in January to get us to eight. We went by practice last week and met the girls. I can't vouch for their tennis skills, but they are a very polite, well spoken, and personable group. As I tend to do, I asked them why SFA? "Coach" was the common answer.

Last Friday and Saturday at NSU, they went 8-10 in singles and 5-4 in doubles.

It's crazy. Isn't it. This hurts me I played competitive (USTA) throughout high school. Back when American men and women dominated world tennis.

A few years ago my son (who attended SFA for a year) had a friend that played for UT on scholarship. He was one of 2 U.S. born male players on the UT squad. Crazy.

I don't know what that means either.

The write up appears to be by someone that knows nothing about tennis. The part about Elena and Jemma being singles draw winners is accurate.

You are correct. The writer obviously knows nothing about tennis. "falling three to six in their third match" and "falling six to seven in their second match". A junior high student newspaper writer would know more about how to give scores in the game of tennis than that.

This is apparently the same person who does not know how to give set scores in volleyball matches either. Come on SFA, you can do better than this!!! Get someone who knows sports to write about sports, not just some journalism or English major who doesn't!

Ladyjacks win their first match of the Spring season 4-3 over Jackson State yesterday before losing 7-0 to La Tech today.

The Ladyjacks have players from Sweden (2), France, England, Russia, Slovenia, New Zealand, and the Dominican Republic.

On a side note, Ladyjacks tennis also now holds the school record for having the student athlete with the longest name. Alkmini Giannakogiorgou is a freshman from New Zealand. It'll be a while before that recond is broken!

Crazy how good our girls battled in this one. We lost 5-2 to them last season. Lost 4-1 to ORU last season. Real progress.
