After day one of the SLC Outdoor T&F tournament, the Lumberjacks are in seventh place.

The Ladyjacks are in first, largely due to 24 points in the pole vault. Ladyjacks are two points ahead of both ACU and NSU.

As if that wasn't enough, she goes out after the Heptathlon and qualifies for the final of the 400 meter hurdles. See the trainer and get some rest young lady.

After day two, the Ladyjacks have a three point lead over ACU. The rest are falling back. Ladyjacks qualified a bunch for the Sunday track finals. They should win the championship.

On the men's side, the Lumberjacks are in a sixth place tie, well behind first place Sam. The men's T&F team this year has some bright spots, but not enough to be championship competitive as a team.

PVU men go first and third. Freshman Branson Ellis with the win, with Sophomore Carter Scott getting the bronze. Between the men and women, took five of the six podium spots. Not too shabby.

Lumberjacks have a solid day three, moving up to third place, thirteen points behind ACU, and way behind the conference champion. Concluded the meet with this second place finish in the 4x400.

Branson Ellis finished 8th in the vault and advances to the NCAA Championships in Austin. He vaulted 17'7", which was the same height as the seven ahead of him, but he had more attempts.

Tyler Stafford cleared 16'3 1/4" to finish 25th. Antonio Ruiz had no height.

Women's vault will be tomorrow afternoon.

Ruiz is interesting. He made his qualifying vault early in the season. I think it has been weeks since he cleared a height. It seems like they had him more focused on running than vaulting. He finished 45th out of 46 in the 400 yesterday. I don't know the thinking.

Ellis did not clear the next height, and finished tied for eleventh. There are four freshmen in the ten vaulters ahead of him. Good season for the young Lumberjack.

Both cleared 13-9 1/4. Pecot finished ninth, with Campbell in sixteenth. Campbell was the only freshman in the 24 women field. Demi Payne's meet record set in 2015 still stands.

Finished fifteenth in the 24 team field. Top eight qualified for the final. SFA team was a freshman, two sophomores, and a junior.
