This is round 26 of this year's prediction competition presented by Kinnaird Guitars. It is a very simple contest, just copy and paste what I have below between the two lines and fill in your prediction including the tiebreaker. The tiebreaker will occasionally change so be aware and make sure to check it. In order to determine the winner I will take the difference between your prediction of the SFA points and their actual points. Then I will take the difference of your prediction of the opponents points and their actual points. I will then add them together and determine the outcome. If you choose the wrong winner, you will be assessed a penalty which will be the worst score of those that chose the right winner.

The closest prediction will receive 10 points and then so on (2nd gets 9, 3rd gets 8...). If you have a perfect prediction, you will receive an 8 points bonus! I will do my best to have the scores posted within the next day of the game but no guarantees.

The tiebreaker for this game is total blocks in the game. Good luck!

I'm thinking that something a bit more sinister might be going on here. There was a TV game show scandal way back in the 1950's in which one contestant was fed the answers before the shows. As Yogi Berra used to famously say, could this be "deja vu all over again"?

Well if anyone's been reading my thoughts after most games, the real way to win is to play each other. I've been posting markers to get things going each game. But for example, on the new Sam Houston thread, I picked them to end up with 69 points. Now 3 of the first 4 guesses have them with 69. If I polled the same people independently, there's a very small chance that they all decide 69 for their answer. But, people are playing the field. Cboothe09 has done the best job of it. He has picked scores after about 5-6 guesses have narrowed the range, but before 10-12 have introduced too much statistical noise. Very consistent and has gotten points the majority of the games. Congrats to him for being a good game player.

However, the postseason will give people a chance to get in the top places which will all see some form of payout.

My whole life Ed. I got perfect scores on my SAT's, went to school on a physics scholarship, left that for the minutiae of theology, some how came away with a BS in geology...and somewhere realized that analysis as my whole life wasn't fun. So now I build a dozen or so guitars a year to make ends meet and talk about SFA sports. But, I need a little number crunching to take the edge off...and smack talk. That helps too.

I actually try to hold off a little while most of the time, that way I can't get the Price Is Right treatment. Either way, I have been more lucky than good. That said, if anyone wants to take me to Vegas, I'm game...lol
