I'm just including a thread here for all the long term fans that aren't premium subscribers. I know it's not always easy to financially support a website (when most of us work hard to stay afloat ourselves). However, I want to give a testimonial to how great a job the Sawmill staff have been doing.

I just checked, and in the last 10 days that have delivered 16 Premium features including game previews, opponent breakdowns, postgame videos, and player video interviews. They are knocking it out of the park!

Essentially for the cost of attending one game, you can get all the inside scoop of SFA sports. Of course, the free forums give tons of great insight, but the access on the premium side is top notch, and you can know you are helping the best little site on the net!

I totally agree! Lots of content that only Premium members can access. The staffers that Isaac has brought on board have already done a great job of reporting and opinionating on SFA athletics -- both men and women. Lots of stuff here that you won't see on the free sections of The Sawmill or on the SFA Athletics website.

Worth every penny for true Lumberjack and Ladyjack fans!

I have been very impressed with the Premium content...Thanks Isaac you are doing a great job... Always wanted a site like this for SFA sports... Also love the input from some of the older men that have been around SFA alot longer than I have..

Agreed, this is mostly everything I wanted when I started LJF.com, just not possible not living in Nac.

This is the best of both worlds now. Head and shoulders above the rest of our league.

Glad to have you in the club Melvin! Haven't seen you in a while. Hope that means your guitars have been behaving themselves.

I agree that this site provides something that fans of sfa have never gotten in the past. I do not post in forums but have come here regularly to read the articles. I was disappointed to see the shift to majority premium content. Totally understand the need to make a living off of what is obviously dedication and good work. I think it is a bit premature to think this is the best avenue for this site. We poke fun at Sam for being a commuter school with limited support even with a superior football program but I think in a moment of honesty we can admit the average sfa fan can be just as fickle. I watch every game on espn3 eleven sports or whatever outlet is available. Take that for what it is worth but I still have reservations on spending 9 bucks a month for a subscription to a site that provides insider information that will most likely become general information even if it is a later date. It has only been recently that new articles have appeared with regularity. And let's face it with the state of our football program the basketball season for both men's and women's is the primary reason to seek additional information on sfa sports. Wish the staff here the best.

Thanks SteelAxe for weighing in. I understand completely where you are coming from. Isaac and some other Sawmill contributors have been putting up quality articles and content for a year now free of any charge. Of course, they were building a potential clientele, but also, they were providing, what I believe, the best inside info on SFA athletics. Obviously basketball is the big draw now, but I have felt that the insight into the offseason sports (volleyball, soccer, bowling, etc.) have given we SFA sports fans more to invest in as well.

I know 9 bucks can be a lot for many to spend, but the Sawmill is giving loads of quality content with no other way to recoup their time spent except through subscriptions. I know most of the pure information will come one way or another to the public, but I do think there is a lot of inside info (player's videos, opponent breakdowns, game previews) that enhances the experience in the moment. It's understandable that not everyone can join in, but I encourage you that even if you don't plunk down your cash on the premiuim side, join in on the free forum side. We always love to have new voices in the mix. Thanks for coming by and saying something.

And remember that the website itself costs money to own. I'm sure there is a pretty hefty annual maintenance fee to F5 Sports. We can't expect Isaac to pay that chunk of change all by himself.

And he just brought on a couple of (excellent) new staff writers within the last month. That's why there has been much more content lately. I'm guessing they're not doing it for free either.

Thanks for the comment SteelAxe, please do stick around and join in the discussion on the free forums. The majority of the content on the site is still there, especially our game threads. Every poster here and new poster that joins, whether they know it or not, goes a long way to improving the overall fan base and our exposure.

Back in 2010, THIS was the only option we had for online discussions. We've come along way, and the fact that we have a younger generation with people like Isaac is a great sign for the growth of our school and fan base.

Completely forgot about those delphi boards.

There was definitely some interesting posts on that board.

First, Ryan, thanks for this thread and the comments here. I appreciate everyone's support on this adventure. I totally understand folks with reservations about spending on Premium content and I'm in no way offended by that. I totally get it. I hope the free users grow exponentially because the forums and the community here that PurpleOut and his crew created is the center of it all. There are some costs associated with running the site and it's a big commitment of time so for anyone who is willing to support, I appreciate you. I hope we can continue to make the product better.
