For discussion as the season goes on. I know it has been a point of criticism at times from people on this board, but I just re-watched the entire La Tech game and there were a series of brilliant in-game adjustments by both coaching staffs. In the end, both clubs had good game plans and it was SFA who made the better adjustments late.

At least for a week, can we put to bed the idea that Keller isn't an X and Os coach?

A week? Maybe not. Until game-time tomorrow? Sure!

All kidding aside, I've been impressed with Keller this year. Adding Charles & Bain back into the lineup while continuing to improve is no easy feat. I was also pretty impressed with the strategy we used in the 1st half against Mississippi State. A few shots fall in the middle & we win. The LA Tech game strategy sounded good.

Is there a publicly available replay of the La Tech game out there? I'd like to watch it at some point.

One thing I've noticed, especially in the early games, is his variety of lineups. I felt like (and we probably were) seeing practice configurations. He would put Gru and Nieminen out there together. Or go as small as he could. He'd go to our big and fast package (Kevon, Leon, Bogues, Ivan, and TJ). Just back and forth. Usually the odd combos would give ground, but he would mix it up.

I know he was just testing things to see how he could use them, but it seems to have been paying off. In the LaTech game, he set to a more standard package (except for the 10 minutes TJ sat in the first). But right now, his game plan only involves Nieminen when he needs to buy some time. No Gru or Fisher in big games - a luxury he didn't have last year. Double small (0 & 10) with Leon for defense. It's working, and the guys are clicking. They're believing. Especially in the clutch.

Keller probably got better from reading our comments and adjusting his game to align with ours. Lol.

For those who don't have faith in our coaching staff's ability to teach an offense, please go watch Texas play. I don't think Shaka has any idea what he's doing except on defense. He MUST hire an assistant that excels in that area and give him the reigns. I thought watching Rick Barnes offense was hard, but this is much worse with all the talent on the court.

I wish I had a video put together of all the masterful set plays we ran out of timeouts against LSU, perfectly done from Keller and his staff.

Don't do it, it's a trap. Trust me, I've watched a lot of those Texas games & they'll bring you down.

Texas suffers from a myriad of issues on the offensive end of the floor. While I still think Shaka's a high level coach, that team does need serious help on the offensive end.

As for Keller, I'm pleased with how well the team has come together before conference play, & how much he's utilizing the entire team to put together winning lineups.
