Kellogg was a great coach. In 8 seasons he made the championship game 4 times going 2-2. Coaching in the BIG 12. This year's tournament champions.

Schneider was a good coach who made the championship game twice in 5 seasons with 0 wins. Coaching in the BIG 12. Won the 2023 WNIT.

Bishop now is three for three in championship games going 2-1 in those games. 1 loss by 1 point. This was probably the most impressive win with this team. He's a winner. His women are winners. I hope we have him for a few more.

I noticed Avery seemed very emotional during the celebration! What exactly kept her out all year and would she even be ready for next year if she comes back?

It is amazing the coaches that have come through SFA and their success, and of course the great Gary Blair in his 8 seasons went 6-0 (The first 2 seasons were in the Gulf Star Conference when there was no tournament) in Championship Games, never losing a single SLC tournament game, coached in the Big 12 and SEC winning a National Championship. 6-6 in the NCAA Tournament with 4 Sweet Sixteen Appearances. All-time high #2 seed.

Royce Chadwick won 6 SLC Tournament Championships out of 7 appearances, went on to Marshall in the MAC won a championship there before returning to the SLC at A&M CC to become the all time winningest coach in SLC history. 4-7 in the NCAA Tournament with a Sweet Sixteen Appearance.

Lee Ann Riley won 2

Sue Gunter would have won some if they had them back in her time.

It is about a 6 season average on how long head women's basketball coaches stay at SFA.

Sue Gunter stayed the longest at 12 seasons
Lee Ann Riley at 9
Gary Blair and Mark Kellogg at 8 and Royce Chadwick at 7 to round out the longest stays.

Great question. I think she had a shoulder injury at the end of last year. I've assumed that carried over to this year. Whether she'll play next year? Not sure but we all sure hope so.

Maybe SFAJack_76 can enlighten us on her situation. He's in-the-know on these things.
