Despite the McNeese fan showing up to talk trash, I will commend them for the basketball team they've built. They showed up. We didn't. SFA was still better equipped for a Cinderella run but that's something we can never know for sure now.

The future is brighter for SFA than any other SLC school on all fronts based on the recent developments and financial improvements. We have a lot to look forward to, not just in basketball or football, but as a university.

Agree. But I think our biggest challenge in the near term is fending off UTRGV. They are building a respecful program down there. They had McNeese on the ropes and let them escape.

Also, on Facebook, the Sawmill 6th Man writer said there was a ton of embarrsssing trash talk and sideline antics coming from McNeese. They said Garcia, in particular, was embarrsssing. Can anyone comment on that?

Thus the ghetto ass team I was talking about.. I hope they fail miserably.. Don't know who I dislike more Tarleton or these thugs..

Hoping we can keep Brauer. If we can I feel like we can make some noise.

Brauer won't leave until he takes us to the dance..

I can't commend them, because it was mostly the teams that left for the WAC that made them who they are. Sure, they say we would have moved as well if we didn't get what they wanted. But they would have suffered immensely if they had gone to WAC. Basketball would have been at the bottom; football would have been, also, and the list can go on and on. They took a gamble with Will Made and made something, but they will leave their other programs that aren't basketball high and dry. I'll be interested in seeing where the commissioner cup standings are at the end, and see how we compare to them.

I honestly didn't see any of that....it may have happened but wasn't noticeable to us further up the stands. Also, a lot of the McNeese players were hugging on our players as the teams shook hands, especially Keon and Cam...

Yeah on tv it looked like the McNeese players were getting very mouthy after every shot they made, but I don't mind it as much as some other people.

The rivalry between SFA and McNeese and very, very quickly became the most heated one in the SLC by far. At least for the players, it feels like the BOTPW again. Both teams absolutely hate each other, and the fanbases seem to be getting into it as well. We absolutely hate them more than we hate NWST(seems like no one considers that a rivalry anymore) and they hate us more than any of their actual rivals.

The trash talk reminds me of our games against Sam. Not quite as heated of a rivalry(I miss hating their convicts) but it really developed into a big time rivalry very quickly.

Maybe it's the fan bases on line because I haven't seen any of that in person this week...in fact, they've been very nice and wishing us luck on both the men's and women's side...Both SFA and McNeese in the final of both men's and women's games helps the SLC. Do we hate the advantage they have due to the tourney being in Lake Charles? Absolutely....but the rivalry makes both programs better. IMO...

McNeese played lights out last night. They were ready to win that game. I hate the deal McNeese made with the SLC but I'm not gonna pretend like SFA wouldn't have done the same exact thing...I don't blame them at all for striking that deal for their advantage. It also mimics what a game in the Big Dance would feel like, so until 2029, we need to use it to our advantage. Would love us to bus some students/fans in, too.

I mostly just want the game on a Saturday, not a Wednesday. This would help a lot of fans who can't just afford to take time off work on a weekday. I would have loved to show up. But I just couldn't make it work, taking three days off. Then at least you could fill more SFA fans in the seats. So then it could be an even number of fans.

That's a good idea! Definitely would have more fans there...and, it was not sold out last night lol There were plenty of empty seats, including one beside me and in front of me!

It makes zero sense because the selection show starts on Sunday. Now we have 4 days until it. I think in Katy, it used to be a Saturday or Sunday before Spring Break ended.

I think it's probably to try to get them on TV.

But I personally would prefer Saturday/Sundays.

That's my guess, but everyone tunes in since it's National TV. So Wednesday makes 0 sense.
