The Lumberjacks are back in business against the Cardinals of Incarnate Word tonight in the Sawmill. UIW brings with them two of the most prolific scorers in the Southland Conference: Davion Bailey and Tahj Staveskie. Staveskie has taken more shots than any player in the conference while Bailey has made the most shots of any in the conference. About 60% of Bailey's shots come from behind the arc.

Unfortunately for the Cardinals, defense is not a big part of their game. They want to overwhelm by offensive output. The Jacks will need to control Bailey and limit the rest of the team. If both teams are aiming for 80 points, it will be the Cardinals type of game. Time for the Jacks defense to get stout.

10-8 UIW second media. One bucket in 4 minutes for the Jacks. The Cardinals are trying to prove that they have a defense.

Keon and Lateef sitting with two fouls each with 11 left in the first half. Time for Mohammed to prove his mettle.

17-10 SFA at the third media. Jacks turning up the heat. Scurry is all up in Bailey's business.

28-19 Jacks at the half. Bailey scores his first two points to end the half. Without our two leading scorers we still handled business. Got twenty more minutes.

Shots not falling but theirs aren't either.

Main difference for the first half is our 7 steals to their one.

Stats say that Colonel is a terrible free throw shooter, Keon in just ok, everyone else is good.

All of our main ball handlers have three fouls. You can get away with murder in the post but nothing at the point.

Too many fouls! Burton Keon and Lateef with 3 a piece. Missed one. Mohamed has 3.

Not putting on an offensive clinic tonight but holding a 12 point lead!

38-27 Jacks U12. UIW going to a full court press to try to shake things up.

Too many missed free throws.

40-33 SFA U8. Game has gotten miserably ugly. Lumberjacks look like they can't finish when sped up.

This game is close to watching my granddaughter's 7th grade games. Scoring very hard to come by.

56-46 Jacks win! Keep them to under 50 and win by 10. Just how we drew it up.

Take the win and go forward. 3 road games coming up I believe.

Hope Colonel is okay after the limp off.
