SFA (12-3, 5-1) vs. Houston Christian (5-10, 1-5)

The Lumberjacks return this afternoon to their home court after a four game conference road swing to take on the last place Huskies of Houston Christian. The Lumberjacks have been firing on all cylinders as of late and show no signs of stopping as the are looking to stay up at the top of the Southland.

SFA sits at 93 in the NET while HCU is at 304. Technically there's no easier game left on the schedule as today's, but everyone brings their best shot when they come to Nac. The Jacks have to do their thing today and get the win.

14-3 SFA first media. A couple more people here than at the ladies game.

Houston CHRISTIAN coach loudly cussing out his own players during foul shots.

19-14 SFA second media. After a fantastic start, we got a little soft.

28-20 SFA third media. A little scrappy.

36-21 SFA at final first half media. Alisas starting to eat them up.

43-28 Jacks at half.

Narit leading rebounds even though his shot has been off. Jacks winning offensive rebounds 10-1. HCU has a better shooting percentage but 16 fewer shots.

Colonel a little bit of a no show this game so far.

Just curious.. One of the Jacks assistants keeps some kind(s) of data on a whiteboard, then shows it to the players during timeouts. What's he showing them?

80-57 SFA at final media. We've decided to just let Keon make drive after drive for the last three minutes. Effective against HCU if a little boring schematically.

Thompson is having POY level games almost every night. Even when he's off, he still impacts the game.

I agree. It's Lateef who has all these sneaky games where he leads scoring and no one notices.

The thing that most impresses me about Lateef (other than his obvious ability to score points from anywhere on the court) is his demeanor. Never gets too high and never gets too low. You know what you're getting when he's on the court, quietly scoring points, protecting the ball, and just being a great team player. It's difficult to call any particular one of our guys my favorite, but Lateef is definitely one of them.
