CC had a really nice game. He also knocked down those free throws!

Mohammed playing hard and hitting shots when Keon had to sit really affected how easily we controlled the second half.

Jacks are now 6-2. The next 5 games in December look promising.

Exactly, about Mohammed. Easily his best game of the season, and we needed it, with Keon's foul trouble and having an overall bad night.

Four guys in double figures and two others with nine. Sharing the wealth.

Colonel is amazing with 6 more blocks. I don't know what the school record for blocks is, but if he stays healthy that record will soon be his to keep for a very long time.

Taylor Smith all-time leader for one year, but Colonel is playing at a pace to have a record defensive season. T.J. Holyfield has the career block record with 133. (Nana and Smith are 1 block behind at 132.)

Chotikavanic - PTS:13; REB:3; STL:1
Patrick - PTS:12; REB:6; AST:2; STL:2
Christmas - PTS:11; REB:10
Thompson - PTS:9; REB:7; AST:6
Colonel - PTS:6; REB:8; BLK:6; STL:1

If we can get a combined 15 pts from Christmas and Colonel every game we will be tough to beat.

Ok, Nacluth, put down your guitar for a minute and educate me...

Define Block Percentage and Box Plus/Minus. I must have been napping when those were explained in hoops class long ago.

Yeah those two stats are a little controversial in how much they mean. People are starting to put more stock in Box Plus/Minus which has long been used in hockey where there are full line changes.

Here's the breakdown:

Block Percentage - The amount of blocks compared to the opponent's two point shot attempts. (Blk/2PA)

For an individual player, it is slightly more complex because you factor in how many minutes of the game they played. This is usually done by average shots per minute. In a perfect stat world, it would be measured by how many shots were blocked and attempted while only that player was on court.

Box Plus/Minus - This is actually a very complicated formula that tries to quantify the impact of a player while they are on the court compared to a league average player. It can be calculated offensively or defensively.

Essentially our team is given a rating comparing our average stats against every other D1 team. This sets a base line. Each player's stats are then calculated for how well they perform on a per minute basis. This is then multiplied by a coefficient based on the position they play. This is then compared to their team rating which allows players to be compared to others in D1.

Essentially league average is 0.0. A player with a 2 rating is above average. 5.0 they are really good. 8.0 they are the best player on the team. 10+ they are at a superstar level compared to every other player.

Since this stat was first record in 2010, Walkup's senior year is far and away the best season by a Lumberjack. Taylor Smith had a 10+ senior year. Walkup holds third place with a 8.7 junior. Currently Narit is in fourth at 8.2. Early he is putting up elite numbers.

Defensive numbers are more suppressed. Currently Colonel is the only player above 5. Smith and Walkup's senior years both were just below 5 for the season (4.9 and 4.7 respectively).
