The Lumberjacks are off to a hot 4-0 start with solid wins over Rice and Abilene Christian. Now they get a real test in traveling to the west coast where traditionally the Jacks have not fared well after the long plane trip. Technically the Jacks are currently higher rated than any other team they will play this year except for McNeese, but there's no pushovers on this trip.
The Fresno State Bulldogs have been competitive in every game that they have played with two narrow losses to SC Upstate and Long Beach St. They are coming off a win over Utah Valley by one. They're led by to upperclassmen guards Jake Heidbreder (Sr., 6'5") and Zaon Collins (Jr., 6'1") who combine for 33 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists. They have three bigs over 6'10". They are a stingy defense inside the paint (21st in nation) and the they are great at forcing turnovers. They are averaging 77 points a game.
It's going to be a battle. It's going to take defensive focus and good inside execution. While we hope that the three balls are falling, it will be tough sledding if we have to just rely on that. Should be a good overall game.
