Hayman carried us.

While it may have seem like the worst game by far our Stats don't look that bad though. Turnovers were the main messy thing and fouls.

I won't sugar coat it. Thompson looked terrible handling the ball last night, both on not protecting the ball on the dribble and when passing. Threw the ball straight at defenders a couple of times. You can bet that UIW saw that and will be all over him with double teams on Saturday.

Is that the Jacks I see only one game out of 6th place?!?! Who would a thunk we had a prayer to even say that?!

A lot of our turnovers led to points. A lane violation on a missed one and one led to two made free throws…Trying not to be negative on a win but just need to correct a few things. Props to our guys not folding and getting the road win and props to ETAM for hanging in there and making some big shots down the stretch.

My opinion of the SLC has not changed since we sank as low as we did. It's a weak conference, and weak basketball conference. As bad as we've been we've managed to pull ourselves out of hell.

We can still feel the heat, but here we are, not scorching anymore. If we can keep this level of momentum going forward, we will most definitely make the SLC tournament, something I didn't think was going to happen just a week ago. Once we're there, might as well, and I quote legendary fictional Cleveland Indian catcher Jake Taylor, "win the whole damn thing".

Win the whole damn thing? Whoa! Back up the bus there, partner! We were one last-second shot from losing to the last-place team in the conference.

I feel like we're in an alternative universe right now. Hoping and praying that an SFA MBB team even makes the dadgum lowly SLC tournament. This ain't the SFA hoops that I know and love. Wake me when it's over.

we have to dream big!

As I've said before, after the Lamar game (loss) at the beginning of February, we have 7 games in a row against the worst 7 teams in the Southland. Thankfully we've beaten the first 5 we've played.

You can only play the teams on the schedule, but this was the right schedule to build momentum for Coach Jasick. However, it's just the bottom of the Southland. We're not proving much except that we actually aren't one of the worst teams in the nation.

I would love to pick up the next two games and go into the final two (Nicholls and McNeese) with some swagger. Those would probably be previews of the SLC semi and finals if we can make it that far.

never thought UIW / HCU would put me in a tizzy but this is Lumberjack basketball 2025 version.

It seems to come down to Thompson and Hayman as mentioned by a number of folks on this forum.

If we play defense the way we did last time against UIW and we don't shoot 11% from beyond the arc, We should have a fruitful day.

Looking at ETAM conference schedule they have lost several games that were very close. Beat NW by 22. Their record doesn't lie but they are not all that bad. Hopefully they get another win or two that matters.
